Dancing for Weight Loss with Country Music!

I know it sounds crazy coming from a bodybuilding and kickboxing blog, but plenty of us guys have a thing for Country Music. What’s not to love?  Girls in cowboy boots, daisy dukes and swinging hips while drinking some nice cold American beer!  But too much of that beer will pack on the pounds and I’m sure feeling it 6 weeks into summer.  I’ve always had success with weight lifting, but cardio has been something that has never really spoken to me much. I hate going for runs or doing any traditional cardio because it’s just plain boring.

But my girlfriend saw that there was a dance program from Beachbody being released called Country Heat.  This program is created by Autumn Calabrese who also created the 21 day fix and helps you lose weight by teaching you dance moves to go along with the rhythm and beat of good old fashioned country music.  She features a track list full of old favorite tunes and even new ones that are used purposefully for this program.  If you like dancing or just enjoy the Southern country lifestyle in general, this won’t even feel like exercise to you.

The Country Heat program consists of 6 different workouts that you will do each day and have a rest day on the day of your choosing.  You will sometimes do two workouts in a day when doing a strength training style workout known as Dance Conditioning.  But if you are a big kick boxer or really into weight lifting, I recommend you just do the Country Heat workouts on occasion and enjoy yourself and get that cardio burn in.  The weight lifting won’t be worth the effort and you don’t want to decrease your muscle mass.

This program also has a nutrition plan that teaches you all about portion control with an emphasis on eating plenty of vegetables and protein.  If you’re a woman, it’s a great and easy way to lose weight and learn about calories in and calories out for weight loss. But if you’re a dude who is focused on weight gaining, you can still follow this plan but will need to choose a larger calorie bracket for best results.  If you are doing your “cutting” phase and trying to lean out, it’s actually the perfect diet.

Overall, I recommend Country heat for guys and gals who love dancing to southern music and enjoy line dancing and any kind of low impact moves. This has also been great for my Aunt who has bad joints and knees but has experienced no problem after doing these workouts.  Good luck y’all!

You move constantly while exercising you arms through various punching, thrusting and blocking moves. You also work your back and shoulders with these movements and work your abdominal muscles while clenching your stomach throughout these exercises.  Additionally,  you work your legs and butt when you kick and swivel from side to side.

They are certified and trained to be able to help you go through a variety of strength building exercises and routines to help you get past an injury.  If the problem is recent, you should immediately call for a physiotherapist who can instantly assess your situation and begin developing a series of exercises you can start to do to help you get past any injury you may have.  Physiotherapists are trained not only help you with current injuries but ensure that you are not at risk for potential re-injury. It’s commonly known in the therapy world that those who suffer an injury are at risk to develop another injury in the same place the next time they perform the same sport or activity that they initially did to injure themselves. Therefore, it is essential to take extra precaution to avoid this from happening again and to make sure your muscles are strong and flexible.

Trained professionals will first assess your injury and then prepare a specialized plan for you to help you through the process of rehabilitation. First, the therapist will help you by slowly building up your strength on the injured muscle at the same time ensuring that it heals correctly.  The patient may need a more serious form of treatment such as a soft tissue treatment to help rebuild muscle or even a technique using acupuncture to help reduce muscle inflammation and pain and promote healing.

Summer Workouts: Making Fitness Fun

Yo! Welcome to our July edition. Summer is here, were you ready for it? I’m guessing if you’re reading this that no, you weren’t, lol.  It’s funny how fast the heat wave can come on and then we’re left wondering what the heck we were doing for the past 10 months. Seriously, why weren’t we preparing for the beach? We knew it was coming.

“THIS IS THE SUMMER I WILL BE FIT”. Man, I have used and said that one for about 12 years and guess what, it’s NEVER MY SUMMER. I never lose weight and get my beach body on time and I wonder why? Well this year was different for me because I knew that before my big champagne birthday hit I wanted to lose weight. Skinny fiber reviews 2015 helped me make that change. I  started taking the fiber diet pills about 4 months ago and was consistent. I didn’t even workout that much. I just took the pills and drank a ton of water and the pounds started to drop crazily enough.

It’s not easy, i’ll admit. I did eat a lot of junk when I probably shouldn’t have but I don’t believe you can be perfect 100% of the time. You end up missing out on a lot of things if you don’t enjoy life with your friends and family. I don’t want to be saying “no” my whole life, but i also know that I can’t always give in.

No one has ever lost weight and then said “wah it wasn’t worth it”. It’s always worth it. But after you lose weight, you need to remember the important thing of maintaining that weight loss.  Otherwise you could gain it all back and regret it bitterly. Combining Kickbox Cardio and Diet Supplements

IS cardio enough? Is working out enough to help you meet your weight loss goals? This is the question of the hour – of every hour for eternity it seems. Some people workout tirelessly without success and blame the exercise for their failure to lose weight.  But yet they eat whatever they want and don’t consider it to be an issue.

You need to have a healthy balance of both diet and exercise in order to lose weight.  One of the girls I train with wasn’t losing any weight with exercise alone until she told me that she went to skinny fiber reviews from the official website online. She said these skinny fiber pills helped her eat less throughout the day.  The fact of the matter is that the MORE calories you consume, and if you consume more than you are burning, you won’t be losing weight. I am also a big fan of home work out videos because you don’t have to waste time changing at the gym, you can just do a quick workout when you wake up before you shower for work and voila, finished!

The most important thing to do is be consistent. Drink plenty of water. Don’t drink too much alcohol and allow yourself the odd day to relax, go out to eat with your friends and don’t feel like you are depriving yourself too much.

Write a list of your favourite low calorie snacks and fill your fridge with options that are not tempting or bad. For example, green apples, low fat yogurt and cottage cheese are all excellent filling options that will satisfy you and also your craving for something sweet.  Until next time! 🙂

Kickboxing and Cardio Fat Loss Benefits

Everyone knows that exercise is important for them. But so many people struggle to get the energy or drive enough to follow through with it and commit to a regular regime of working out and cardio.

I think that is primarily due to the fact that exercise is BORING for most people.  Going to a hot packed sweaty gym. Jumping on a treadmill and staring into oblivion watching as the 45 minute clock slowly drops down while you listen to the only song you like on your ipad. Repeat. And probably lady gaga.

Boring, right?

But it doesn’t have to be this way. The key to success and fitness is to finding something that you actually ENJOY doing.  Whenever I ask a kid what they like to do in their free time, they always say some sort of actual physical activity “Oh I love playing football” or “My favorite thing to do is play tag!”  Even when asked if they prefer that to video games, they always prefer playing sports or running around the park with their buddies.

Because it’s PLAY, it’s exhilarating.  And it’s natural.

While it might be strange to ask a group of your buddies to play tag or hide and seek with you at the park, what ISN’T strange is getting a group together to play a game of basketball.  Remember in elementary school, how awesome it was to play capture the flag?  Games are fun. Activity is FUN, freeing.  I got into kickboxing as a pretty chunky person, I had a lot of fat to lose. But it literally melted off me once I started kickboxing three times a week over the course of a year.  I started to actually enjoy my workouts for once, something I never thought possible.  The key is just to stumble across something you actually enjoy doing.

And then once you find it, never look back.
